The SUBARU Impreza is one of the most famous cars in rallying; its blue and yellow colour scheme is one of the most recognisable liveries of all-time.
In 2001 SUBARU’s main drivers were Richard Burns and Petter Solberg, with 3 more drivers taking part as the season progressed.
The season is most known for Burns’ epic battle with Colin McRae, who was now driving the Ford Focus and had previously won with SUBARU in 1995.
The drivers were neck-and-neck in the standings going into Rally New Zealand, and Burns needed a good result to stay in contention.
With Robert Reid as his co-driver, Richard Burns took his only win of the Season, giving him vital points in the battle against McRae.
Following the New Zealand win, Burns took podiums at Australia and Great Britain, becoming the first British champion since McRae won in 1995.
In DiRT Rally 2.0 you can drive this very car, with Phil Mills as your co-driver. Mills was Petter Solberg’s co-driver in the real car during the 2001 Season.
