Women in sim racing continues with Yvonne Van Den Berg and the weekly blogs she writes. Here in blog 10, we catch up with life in the sim fast lane. 05/05/21
Before we kick off with Yvonnes blog number 10! I would like to say it has been a real pleasure to have Yvonne with us here at simrace247.com with the blogs she writes. Having great people such as herself involved in the sim racing community really does show that the love for sim racing is everywhere. It is not just an open door for only males to attend, that stigma is false and WE believe that sim racing is for everyone. Yvonne a big congratulations from simrace247.com and roll on to the next 10.
Welcome to my tenth weekly blog!! 10 05-05-2021
On Saturday 01-05-2021 was the first race of the Endurance Cup Season 3. It was an eventful race, with Alethea Boucq and Sarah Johnson. We started at P44 and ended up P32.
I drove the last stint in the rain, first, it was a damp track and I drove with wet tires that were too hot and too much tire pressure. We thought the rain came sooner than it actually did, that’s why I had too much tire pressure. I had a good pace, till I made a mistake that cost a lot of damage with another car. I drove with 55 seconds of damage, but we would lose too many places if we made that extra pitstop. In the end, we made a good comeback from P44, there was definitely more in it. The next race is in Monza, we have already a good setup and I’m really looking forward to the race.
ERU Prestige Sim Cup
This SIM Cup is with three Dutch racing drivers, Robert Doornbos, Tom Coronel, and Niels Langeveld! I’m a huge race fan, since 1999 I watch racing on tv, did go-karting myself, and also got my racing license in 2009. I follow the sport for a long time, it is an amazing opportunity for me to drive with them!
The second round is at Suzuka with the Audi RS3 TCR, I never drove with that car before and to be honest I didn’t drive on iRacing for a long time because of the races in ACC. I’m going to practice a lot for it in the next few days and really looking forward to the race on Tuesday 11-05-2021.
Diamond Drive Cup
It is Misano time!! Tonight 05-05-2021 I drive the DDC at Misano.
Yesterday I drove a new Personal Best; 1:32.901, it is a really good time and I love to drive at Misano. I made a clip from it;
I’m going for the win tonight, my race pace is also really good! I already drove a lot at Misano for the Endurance Cup S2 Qualifying event, MFR S2 and also the Sprint Cup!
Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and also the Ferrari Evo, I drove the Boat (Bentley) for the first time there.
The Boat really suits me and I drove 0.7 tenths faster than what I drove with all the other cars!
I hope to see you all there tonight, I’ll be streaming from 19.00cet, I’m maybe a bit quiet than normal because I really want to win!!
More female racers
On Monday 10-05-2021 it’s time for round 2 for the More Female Racers. I drive together with Eris Aphelion, the last race we ended up P22. Hopefully, we can go for a better result now! I’m really enjoying driving with Eris and looking forward to doing some practice together! We already have a good setup from Giorgio Simonini and we will give it all and see where we end up!!
Also looking forward to seeing what our other teams will do, we are driving with 5 teams in the More Female Racers.
